Modernity in Indian painting has always sought indigenous roots, and I have long admired how Abanindranath Tagore’s vision shaped this journey. Growing up in Kolkata in a family of musicians, I was drawn to rhythm, expression, and visual art from a young age. My training at S.B.S.S.P. Chirantgan College of Art and the Academy of Fine Arts deepened this pursuit, while observing local potters and sculptors nurtured my understanding of devotion and craft.
Indian mythology and folk art, especially the legend of Radha and Krishna, inspire my work. Using acrylics on dark canvases, I aim to create luminous, lyrical forms that bridge the spiritual and the earthly. My practice blends indigenous tradition with contemporary thought — a personal continuation of the neo-Indian school, contributing to the evolving language of Indian painting.
