I was born in 1970 into a rural family of traditional potters in West Bengal, so I suppose you could say art has always been a part of me. As a child, I began expressing myself by creating clay sculptures of gods, and that was my earliest step toward developing my artistic senses. Over the years, my paintings have found their way into numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in India and abroad, which has been a humbling journey.
What has remained constant for me is my commitment to imagery that speaks to everyone, at a level deeper than the surface. I believe painting should be easily communicable to ordinary people. Most of my works are composed of multiple layers that are transcendental and mystical, inviting viewers to explore beyond what is immediately visible.
